CHALLENGE PARK

Public BBQ

Stumbled upon this pirate-themed playground and immediately understood why every small person within a fifty-kilometre radius seems magnetically drawn to the place. The centrepiece ship is genuinely impressive - kids can scramble up to the top deck like proper seafaring explorers or hunker down in the hull plotting their next adventure. The barbecue facilities are clean and there's a covered picnic table, though I'd suggest arriving early morning or late afternoon as the shade situation around the play equipment is rather optimistic. The slides get scorching hot under the Queensland sun, and the ship's steps are decidedly oversized for tiny pirates under five. No toilets on-site, which seems an oversight given how long children want to linger here. The location near a busy intersection isn't ideal for wandering toddlers, but the colourful, imaginative design more than compensates.
